Using a piano donated by Hall Piano Company in New Orleans, Louisiana artist George Rodrigue created a unique, iconic piece of art:  The Rodrigue Steinway "Blue Dog Piano."  

 

With the 1913 Steinway Model A grand piano as his canvas, Rodrigue created a piece that would generate interest for the needs of the George Rodrigue Foundation of the Arts at special concerts and performances. 

 

It is a genuine Steinway, having been fully restored to Steinway & Sons standards by certified Steinway technicians. A testament to the quality and longevity of an investment in the Steinway brand, this Steinway Grand celebrates its 100th Birthday in 2013.
